Please read before proceeding to the Application. Crucial FTC Compliance Rules for ARC Reporting The FTC and retailers (especially Amazon's review enforcement algorithms) monitor reviews closely. Keep these strict rules in mind: • No Forced Reviews: An author can give you a free book, but they cannot force you to write a review in exchange. Your review must always be voluntary. • No Paid Opinions: An author cannot pay you to write a review or tell you what score/rating to give the book. To stay safe and legally compliant with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), anyone reviewing an Advance Review Copy (ARC) must clearly state they received the book for free. "Uncorrected Proof" Disclaimer This Work may be an early version of the book. It may still have typos or formatting errors. You are welcome to bring this to the author’s attention. "Content Warning" Disclaimer Most works of Horror fiction have scary, violent, or mature themes, please be advised beforehand. ARC reader posting guidelines Amazon reviews are generally restricted to after the Novel has been published. State clearly and transparently in your review text that you received a free advanced copy. "I received a free digital ARC from the publisher/author for an honest review" works well. Your review will not show a "Verified Purchase" badge because you received a free copy. To leave an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) review on Goodreads before a book is published, you must first confirm that you read an advance copy by selecting your book source. 1. Search for the specific title and correct unreleased edition on Goodreads. 2. Add the book to your Read or Currently Reading shelf. 3. When you go to rate or review an unpublished book, Goodreads will prompt a box asking where you received your copy. Select or type your source (such as directly from an author, publisher, NetGalley, or Edelweiss). 4. Assign a star rating and type out your honest review in the text box. 5. Click Post or Save to submit it publicly. It will display your rating alongside the verified book source tag. To leave an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) review on StoryGraph, you review it just like any regular book once the official edition is added to the database or if the specific ARC/unedited edition is listed. 1. Search for the book using the top search bar on StoryGraph and open its book page. 2. Update your reading status by clicking the status button (like "To Read" or "Currently Reading") and change it to Read. 3. Open the review prompt that appears immediately after marking it as Read, or click Add Review near your reading status bar on the book page. 4. Fill out your review details, including your star rating (half and quarter stars are supported) and your written thoughts. 5. Add optional tracking details like pacing, mood tags, and content warnings if desired. 6. Click Save or Submit Review at the bottom of the page.
